Day 1: Arrive Bhubaneswar
Upon your arrival at Bhubaneswar, you will be greeted and transferred to your hotel. After settling in, embark on a city tour. Visit the Parasurameshwar Temple, Mukteshwar Temple, Rajarani Temple, and Lingaraj Temple (please note that only Hindus can enter the sanctum of Lingaraj Temple). Explore the ancient Khandagiri and Udaygiri caves, known for their historical significance. Additionally, visit the Dhauli Rock Edicts, which mark a pivotal moment in Indian history. Overnight stay at the hotel in Bhubaneswar.
Day 2: Bhubaneswar - Bhitarakanika National Park (200kms)
After breakfast, depart for Bhitarakanika National Park. Along the way, visit Ratnagiri, Udaigiri, and Lalitgiri, ancient Buddhist sites known for their numerous stupas and rock-cut monasteries. Upon arrival at Bhitarakanika, check in at your jungle cottage or tent. In the evening, explore the mangrove habitat on a boat safari, cruising along serpentine creeks. Keep an eye out for various bird species, especially different varieties of kingfishers. Watch for estuarine crocodiles basking in the sun, and visit the Bagagahan Bird Sanctuary. Climb to the watchtower to spot pelicans and different types of storks. You can also explore the Crocodile Museum at Dangamal. Dinner and overnight stay at the jungle cottage or tent.
Day 3: Bhitarakanika National Park - Similipal Tiger Reserve (200kms)
After breakfast, continue your exploration of the mangroves with a boat safari. Enjoy the serene beauty of the area and observe various bird and wildlife species. Later, drive to the Similipal Tiger Reserve and check in at your jungle cottage or tent. Lunch, dinner, and overnight stay at the jungle cottage or tent.
Day 4: Similipal Tiger Reserve
Begin the day with a hearty breakfast before embarking on a thrilling jeep safari within the Similipal Tiger Reserve. This reserve is home to a diverse range of wildlife, including tigers, leopards, sloth bears, elephants, and gaurs (Indian bison). Similipal is also known for being the only habitat in the world where melanistic tigers, also known as black tigers, can be found. Enjoy the safari experience and keep your camera ready for capturing the incredible flora and fauna. Return to the jungle cottage or tent for lunch and later, enjoy dinner. Overnight stay at the jungle cottage or tent.
Day 5: Similipal Tiger Reserve - Bhubaneshwar (200kms)
After breakfast, bid farewell to the wilderness of Similipal as you drive back to Bhubaneswar. You will be transferred to Bhubaneswar Airport to catch your evening flight for your onward destination, marking the end of your adventure in Odisha's natural wonders.
