Upon your arrival at Hubli airport, your journey through the cultural treasures of Karnataka begins. You'll be greeted at the airport and driven to Badami, a distance of 140 kilometers. Along the way, your first stop will be in Gadag, where you'll visit the Trikuteshwara Temple and explore a few of the ruined temples, each with its own historical significance. Continuing your drive, you'll reach Lakkundi, home to numerous ancient Chalukyan temples and monuments. Here, you'll have the opportunity to explore temples like Mallikarjuna, Virabhadra, Manikeshwara, Nanneshwara, Lakshminarayana, Someshwara, and Nilakanteshwara. These temples, dating back to the 6th to 12th centuries, showcase the rich architectural and cultural heritage of the region. Finally, you'll arrive in Badami and check in at your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to relax and soak in the ambiance of this historic town. Overnight stay will be at your hotel.
After a hearty breakfast at your hotel, get ready for an exciting day of exploration in and around Badami. Your first destination is Aihole, a historical site known for its remarkable Chalukyan temples and monuments. With over 125 temples, Aihole is a treasure trove of ancient architectural wonders. Notable monuments include the Durga Temple, Lad Khan Temple, Ravanaphadi Cave Temples, Huchimalli Temple, Meganagudi group, Gowda Temple, and the Huchappayyagudi Temple, among many others. Your journey continues to Pattadakal, another UNESCO World Heritage Site, where you'll discover a complex of Hindu and Jain temples built between the 7th and 8th centuries CE. The must-visit temples here include the Virupaksha Temple, Jain temple, Papanatha temple, Galaganath temple, and Sangameshwara temple. Returning to Badami, you'll explore the famous Badami Cave Temples, a complex of four separate temples, each adorned with intricate carvings and depictions. You'll also visit the imposing Badami Fort, perched on a cliff, accompanied by two Shivalaya complexes dating back to the 5th century. The day's exploration concludes with a visit to Agastya Lake, surrounded by stunning red sandstone temples. At the end of the day, return to your hotel in Badami for a comfortable overnight stay.
After enjoying breakfast at your hotel, it's time to depart for the pristine wilderness of Anshi National Park, also known as the Kali Tiger Reserve. Located amid the majestic Western Ghats, this national park is a haven for wildlife enthusiasts and nature lovers. Upon arrival at the park, check in at your resort and prepare for an exhilarating jeep safari through the park's lush and biodiverse terrain. Anshi National Park is home to a wide array of wildlife, including rare and endangered species. Keep your camera ready to capture glimpses of these remarkable creatures. In addition to wildlife, the park is a birdwatcher's paradise, with numerous endemic and migratory bird species. The park's serene ambiance, with the Kali River flowing through it, adds to the charm of your safari. After a thrilling day in the wilderness, return to your resort for a sumptuous dinner and a restful overnight stay.
On your final day, start with an early morning jeep safari in Anshi National Park. This second safari allows you to explore different areas of the park, increasing your chances of encountering its diverse wildlife and experiencing its natural beauty. For those seeking an extra thrill, you have the option of indulging in white water rafting on the gushing Kali River, with rapids up to grade 3. This exciting activity allows you to get up close and personal with the region's stunning landscapes and waterways. After your adventurous morning, return to the resort for lunch. Later in the day, as per your flight schedule, you'll be transferred to Hubli airport, where you can board your flight for your onward destination.
