Itinerary:
Qutub Minar and its Monuments: Your tour will begin with a pick-up from your hotel at 9:00 AM. We will start by visiting the historic Qutub Minar, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This iconic monument, standing at 73 meters tall, celebrates the victory of Delhi's last Hindu kingdom. You'll explore the five-storey tower, each showcasing Indo-Islamic architecture, and visit the first mosque built in India, located at its base, along with the famous iron pillar.
Humayun’s Tomb: Afterward, we'll head to Humayun’s Tomb, another UNESCO World Heritage Site. This magnificent garden-tomb was constructed in 1565 for Emperor Humayun and is considered one of the earliest examples of Mughal architecture in India. You'll be captivated by the Persian-inspired garden, pathways, and the grand mausoleum located at the heart of the complex.
Red Fort (Closed on Mondays): Next, we'll visit the Red Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which showcases the grandeur of Mughal architecture. Please note that the Red Fort is closed on Mondays.
Jama Masjid: After visiting the Red Fort, we will explore the nearby Jama Masjid, one of the largest mosques in India. You can explore this stunning example of Mughal architecture and, if you wish, climb the minaret for panoramic views of Old Delhi.
Chandni Chowk: After the mosque visit, we can explore the bustling streets of Chandni Chowk, a historic market area, and enjoy some local cuisine at a nearby restaurant for lunch.
Raj Ghat: Our next stop will be Raj Ghat, the memorial to Mahatma Gandhi. You can pay your respects at this serene location.
Drop Off: At the end of our tour, we will drop you off at your hotel, concluding a day filled with historical insights and architectural wonders.
