Visit The Largest Active Temples in South India will begin in Trichy, a gateway city with one of the largest & tallest active temple complexes in India. From here proceed to Madurai to visit another large active temple having more than 33 million sculptures. Next proceed to Rameshwaram a shore city with one of the most sacred sites of Hindu pilgrimage hosting Jyotirlinga & one of Four Dham. Then Proceed to Thanjavur via visiting Chettinad a region once occupied by wealthy merchants their mansions are now left abandoned. Visit the Great Living Chola Temple in Thanjavur then proceed to Trichy to fly out for onward destination.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Trichy

On arrival at Trichy airport assistance & transfer to hotel check in at hotel. Later visit Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple the largest functional temple in the world and The Rock Fort 83m high only outcrop in the flat land said to be the oldest rock in the world 230 crore years old. O/n at hotel.

Day 2: Trichy - Madurai (140kms)

Breakfast at hotel. Drive to Madurai check in at hotel. Later visit Meenakshi Temple, Thirumalai Nayakar Palace, Alagar Koil, Tiruparankundram Murugan Temple & Palamuthirsolai Murugan Temple. O/n at hotel.

Day 3: Madurai - Rameshwaram (170kms)

Breakfast at hotel. Visit Ramanathaswamy Temple one of the 12 Jyotirlinga temples with world longest corridor and immaculate carvings on pillars. Also visit to Adams Bridge the chain of reefs, sandbanks and islets that almost connects Sri Lanka with India. O/n at hotel.

Day 4: Rameshwaram - Thanjavur (250kms)

Breakfast at hotel. Drive to Thanjavur. Enroute visit few 19th-century mansions, whose wide courtyards and spacious rooms are embellished with marble and teak. Arrive Thanjavur check in at hotel. O/n at hotel.

Day 5: Thanjavur - Trichy (60kms)

Breakfast at hotel. Visit Brihadeshwara Temple & Fort built by great Chola king in the 10th century. Thanjavur Palace & Museum a vast building of masonry built by the Nayakas around 1550 and partly by the Maratha. The palace houses an art gallery, a library and a hall of music. Later drive to Trichy and drop off to airport to board flight for onward destination. O/n at hotel.
